Stonewell Cottages, in the Barossa Valley, is a boutique bed and breakfast retreat offering seclusion, privacy and luxury.
Situated in a unique, secluded vineyard and waterfront setting in South Australia's most prestigious wine growing region, the Barossa Valley, Stonewell Cottages is just three minutes drive from Tanunda and only 60 minutes drive from Adelaide.
The Haven Spa Retreats, the Hideaway Cottage and Cupid's Cottage are tucked away in the vines of Stonewell Vineyards, our 50 hectare vineyard property, overlooking a picturesque, private lake. It is a tranquil world away from stress and hectic schedules, the ideal place to escape and rejuvenate. Wake up to a long, lazy breakfast amongst the vines beside the lake, to the serenade of the birds.
Stonewell Cottages was established by Yvonne and John Pfeiffer in 1987, one of the first purpose built self-contained bed and breakfast accommmodation properties in the Barossa. The property is now managed by their daughter Tina.
Haven Spa Retreats
This charming bluestone cottage, overlooking the lake, contains two self-contained retreats, each with private facilities.
Note - There is NO sharing of any facilities between the retreats. Each retreat is furnished the same, has the same layout and own private indoor and outdoor facilties as outlined below:
Setting
- Vineyard, lake and cottage garden views from all windows
- Private al fresco dining area with outdoor setting, market umbrella, sunlounges and gas BBQ
Bedroom
- 'Pillow top' queen size bed
- Crisp white linen and wool quilt
- Max occupancy is 2 adults in each retreat. There are no extra beds available. Children/infants cannot be accommodated.
Bathroom
- Private luxury spa room with large two person oval spa
- Ensuite bathroom with separate shower
- Bathrobes, hairdryer, toiletries, bubble bath, candles
Hideaway Cottage
Built right on the water's edge, this two bedroom bluestone cottage offers privacy and seclusion and is ideal for a longer stay.
Setting
- Vineyard, lake and cottage garden views from all windows
- Private al fresco dining area with outdoor setting, market umbrella and gas BBQ
- Secret garden with sun lounges
Bedroom
- Two bedrooms each with 'pillow top' king bed (one of these beds can be separated into 2 single beds)
- Crisp white linen and wool quilt
- Max occupancy is 4 adults. There are no extra beds available
- When both bedrooms are used for one couple or 2 single adults, a $25/nt surcharge applies
- By special request, at the time of booking, infants under 12mths of age may be accommodated in the Hideaway only, $25/nt cot provided

Cupid's Cottage
Set right on the water's edge, amongst trees and vineyard, Cupid's is so secluded, no one will even know you are there!

Living/Kitchen For All Cottages
- New stylish timber kitchen with black granite benchtops, Miele appliances, electric hot plates, dishwasher, full size fridge/freezer, microwave, coffee machine, electric frypan, toaster, kettle, crockery, cutlery, glassware and cookware. Oven and washer/dryer also available in Hideaway and Cupid’s.
- Selection of teas, herbal teas and plunger coffee
- Cooking essentials such as oil, salt, pepper, paper towel, gladwrap
- Comfy micro-suede lounge
